Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) Branch Infarction: Diffusion-weighted axial MRIs. Note the bright signal in the precentral gyrus in the right hemisphere, denoting an acute infarct. This very focal lesion resulted in weakness of the left index finger. In this case an embolus presumably formed during the cardiac catheterization and traveled to one MCA branch. |
